We’re overdue an update on the kids. Roxie and Luna have become inseparable. And yes, there’s a lot of sleeping on the job 🙂
A whole bevy of pics in January, as Roxie continues to look more and more Golden. And we discover that Luna is, in fact, half Golden Retriever as well. Who would have thunk?

6 months. And we’re still kinda waiting for Roxie’s growth spurt. But she definitely looks all Golden now. More pictures on Smugmug
Roxie continues her “slow” growth curve. Having had two males as a guide (Rusty and Casey), we’re not used to the growth curve of a female Golden. She’s half the weight of what Rusty was at this age (5 mo), and not much better compared to Casey. But it’s all been length – she’s getting close to Luna’s length. Once she fills out, Luna won’t be able to bully her around as easily! She’s handling the dog park visits very well. Halfway through her intermediate puppy training class, she’s turning out to be a really smart (and somewhat stubborn) golden. What a combination!

Our puppy is disappearing into adolescence, as Roxie’s puppy fur starts to change over. The appearance of the Golden topcoat at the end of July.
Roxie’s growth is noticeable every day. Luna’s playmate, (although she still won’t share nicely). And Bailey has now lost his height advantage.

May 26, 2013. Enter the newest addition to TeamNakagawa. Roxie, 11 pounds, 8 week Golden Retriever, from Diane’s Goldens of Washington. Margo decided that Luna needed a younger playmate.
Margo found a description to the largest off-leash dog park in Portland – the Sandy River Delta park in Troutdale. So we checked it out. If there was any doubt that Luna is or is not a water dog, those doubts are put to bed. She was all into the water – first thing she did was dove in! And Bailey turned into a mud-covered mess by the time all was done.
